Join us for an informative and timely presentation that relates Judaism to the protection of immigrant rights. The ever-increasing restrictions, rights violations, and outright bans on certain immigrant groups in the U.S. is upending lives and runs counter to long-embedded Jewish values. This presentation will provide you with up-to-date developments and a realistic call to action. The program also will feature a short documentary of recent immigrants telling their own stories, and will wrap up with time for questions.

Teddy Manning, a JALSA organizer, will provide background on JALSA—a Boston-based organization devoted to putting Jewish values into action by engaging the Jewish community and its allies in pursuing social, economic, environmental, and racial justice.

Noah Lanckton, who heads JALSA’s immigration team, will discuss what is Jewish about immigration and how JALSA is addressing the immigrant crisis. Noah will examine recent federal and state policies related to immigration and focus on what actions attendees can take to stand up for immigration justice.
