In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to make two iconic Jewish treats from scratch. We’ll begin with Rugelach—a beloved pastry featuring buttery, yeasted dough that originated in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe. Then we’ll craft Ma’amoul—delicate semolina cookies filled with sweet dates, a treasured recipe brought to Israel by North African Jewish immigrants. You’ll leave with a tray of freshly baked treats to enjoy and share with loved ones.
Hila Krikov teaches the culinary program at the Temple’s Hebrew school. She is also the founder of Sweet Tahini, a company specializing in tahini-based desserts. Over the past seven years, she has hosted cooking and dining events for adults, sharing her passion for Jewish, Israeli, and Middle Eastern cuisines, along with the rich history, traditions, and stories that bring them to life.
