Part-time AV Engineer/Audio Technician
Kerem Shalom, a vibrant, progressive, 250-member synagogue in Concord, Massachusetts, is seeking a part-time AV/Audio Technician to manage 8-10 live and hybrid events and support our community’s A/V capabilities between September 2026 and March 2027.
Compensation
Kerem Shalom has budgeted $45-$50/hour, for a minimum of four hours. (Hourly amount is dependent on experience.) A travel stipend may also be available.
Availability
The part-time A/V Engineer must be available for the Jewish High Holy Days (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) on the following dates:
- Rosh Hashanah
- Friday, September 11 – Evening, approximately 5:00 -9:00 pm
- Saturday, September 12 – Morning, approximately 9:00 am- 1:00 pm
- Yom Kippur
- Sunday, September 20 – Evening, approximately 5:00 -9:00 pm
- Monday, September 21 – Morning and early afternoon, approximately 9:30 am-1:30 pm and late afternoon and early evening, approximately 4:30 pm-8:30 pm
The part-time A/V Engineer should also be available for most (hopefully all) of the following four evenings between October and March
- Friday, October 2, 6-9 pm (Simchat Torah)
- Friday, December 11, 6-9 pm (Chanukkah)
- Saturday, January 30, 6-9 pm (Winter concert)
- Saturday, March 20, 6-9 pm (Purim)
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and breaking down sound equipment, for the event
- Monitoring, optimizing and troubleshooting audio mix during the event for live sound and broadcast (Zoom) audio feeds
- Helping configure, maintain, and troubleshoot our A/V infrastructure (occasional, typically 1-4 hours/month)
Desirable skills and experience
- Setting up and running sound for small-to-medium live events (50-500 people)
- Managing complex Zoom events (live sound and video, remote participation, pre-recorded content presented both on-site and remotely, etc.)
- Familiarity with the components of our system or their equivalents, including:
- Soundcraft UI16 mixer
- PTZOptics remote-controlled camera
- Dante audio network
- Associated software running on MacOS including:
- Dante controller
- PTZOptics camera controller
- Rogue Amoeba Loopback
- OBS
- Zoom
- Collaborating with volunteers in a religious or other non-profit organization

Kerem Shalom in Concord, MA is seeking dynamic 3rd/4th and 5th/6th Grade teachers to join our vibrant “Hebrew School Reimagined” community which meets once per week on Monday afternoons from 4:15-6:15 pm.
Job Description:
Teachers will either teach a cohort of 3rd/4th (Judaics and Hebrew) or 5th/6th (Judaics) on Monday afternoons for 2 hours – from 4:15-6:15. The curriculum is flexible and can be a collaborative effort between teacher and Director of Congregational Learning.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach Hebrew and Judaics class for a mixed 3rd/4th cohort; or Judaics for a mixed 5th/6th cohort – 24 Monday Hebrew School sessions per academic year
- Attend 3 faculty meetings and in-service meetings with the Director of Congregational Learning throughout the academic year (roughly 2-2.25 hours each)
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend personalized IEP or customized educational conferences for specific students throughout the year, if needed
- Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans
Qualifications:
- Passion and love for Jewish education
- Experience teaching or facilitating in a Jewish educational setting.
- Energetic and engaging teaching style
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience teaching elementary Judaics or Hebrew (preferred, but not required)
Benefits:
Teacher salaries are paid bi-monthly, on a 9-month academic year cycle, based on the number of taught sessions and an hourly rate.

7th Grade Hebrew School Teacher (2026-2027)
Kerem Shalom in Concord, MA is seeking a dynamic 7th Grade teacher to join our vibrant “Hebrew School Reimagined” community, which meets once per week (on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM) during the school year.
Job Description:
Our 7th Grade Hebrew School seminar and dinner meets once per week from 6:30-8:00 (dinner at 6:30, class at 7:00) on Mondays throughout the academic school year.
The 7th Grade program will be a Judaic academic subject. Topic will be open for development, based on the applicant’s skillset and passion. Potential topics include: Holocaust, Social Justice, Current Events/Politics, Jewish History or Bible studies.
All candidates will collaborate with the Director of Congregational Learning on the development of the curriculum and incoming teacher/s will be compensated over the summer for up to 10 hours of course development/collaboration time.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead a Judaics class for 7th graders – 24 sessions per academic year
- Include 7th grade parents for “Parent Learning Nights” within academic year
- Attend 3 faculty meetings and in-service meetings with the Director of Congregational Learning throughout the academic year (roughly 2-2.25 hours each)
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans
- Update parents on ongoing class progress/status
Qualifications:
