Rabbi Darby Leigh just returned from the T’ruah Convening in Washington, D.C., where rabbis and Jewish leaders from across the country came together to learn, strategize, and strengthen our collective commitment to protecting our Democracy and immigrant rights as rooted in Torah.
While in DC, Rabbi Darby also participated in the protest at the national ICE headquarters—an action you may have read about in the February 12, 2026, Washington Post—which quotes Rabbi Darby and includes a photo of him.

Rabbi Darby shares, “It was a powerful and prayerful gathering, grounded in Jewish values and deep moral conviction.” He looks forward to sharing what he witnessed, the voices he encountered, and how these experiences are shaping his understanding of our collective role at this moment.
At a time when so many of us are asking what our tradition calls us to do, Shabbat offers us critical space to pause, to listen deeply to each other, and to reconnect our spiritual paths with a vision of our worldly moral and ethical responsibilities.
