Make Blankets for Project Linus
At the Mitzvah Masquerade, we’ll coach you on knitting 6” squares to be assembled into blankets, or tying knots in fleece blankets, or finishing up quilts with hand tying. All of these are skills you can learn to continue this rewarding work on your own.
This is a middle school and above activity. Younger children may participate as long as they come with their own adult!
- We have some knitting supplies. Bring your own if you have size 8 needles.
- We use worsted-weight yarn, and it must be acrylic or washable wool, so bring your own if you have some!
- We’ll have fleece ready to make into blankets, bring sharp scissors if you can. And for completing quilts, you just need nimble fingers!
Project Linus is an international organization that has provided more than 10 million blankets for children experiencing trauma. Each blanket we donate will be labeled “Made for you by Kerem Shalom, Concord, MA.”
