With Rabbi Darby & Nancy Kaplan
RSVP by February 3, our catering deadline, to attend the Community Dinner.
Please join us for a meaningful and celebratory opportunity to help us kick off JDAIM (Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month) with a Friday night Shabbat Community Dinner, where good food, warm community, and thoughtful conversation come together.
We’ll begin with a delicious Shabbat dinner, creating space to connect, celebrate, and honor JDAIM. Following dinner, Rabbi Darby will share reflections from A Different Spirit: Creating Meaningful B’nai Mitzvah for Children with Disabilities, in which he co-authored a chapter, written alongside his sister. This first-of-its-kind resource guide for inclusive b’nai mitzvah celebrations will be released this February in honor of JDAIM. Rabbi Darby will also discuss Deaf Identity: Exploring New Frontiers (Perspectives on Deafness), published in 2020, to which he also contributed a chapter.
This promises to be an engaging and illuminating conversation about access, inclusion, and the richness Deaf voices bring to Jewish life. We invite you to come for the meal, stay for the insight, and leave inspired by the power of our inclusive community.
