We are excited to announce that beginning in late June 2026, LilyFish Gomberg will join Kerem Shalom as our new Director of Congregational Learning. She is a Jewish educator who is passionate about cultivating learning spaces that are relational, rigorous, and alive.
LilyFish is currently Communications Manager and Hebrew High teacher at the Society Hill Synagogue in Philadelphia. She’s also pursuing a Master’s in Jewish Education at Hebrew College. A native of Newton who grew up in and later worked at Congregation Dorshei Tzedek, LilyFish, who received her BA from Brandeis, says she’s “excited to return to Massachusetts and to partner with the Kerem Shalom community to build a warm, thoughtful, and intergenerational culture of Jewish learning.”
In addition to her work at the Society Hill Synagogue, LilyFish has supervised counselors as a Unit Head at Eden Village Camp and served as a Springboard Ezra Jewish Education Fellow at Hillel, where she focused on mentorship and relational engagement. Across these roles, she has developed a teaching approach that centers belonging, text study, and creative expression—inviting learners of all ages to see themselves inside Jewish tradition and to experience Judaism as an evolving, living civilization.
