Kitty Stein Memorial Scholarship

The Kitty Stein Accessibility Fund, in conjunction with Kerem Shalom, is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Kerem Shalom high school senior who has shown a demonstrated commitment to core Jewish values in their community service activities and/or their efforts to promote inclusion, accessibility, and other forms of social justice.

Named after the late Kitty Stein, a longtime member of Kerem Shalom, the scholarship will be given to a student who embodies Kitty’s deep commitment to living Jewish values out in the world—striving to repair what is broken in this world and honoring the Divine image in every human being. In the spirit of Kitty’s own life, passions, and priorities, particular consideration will be given to applicants who have worked to expand inclusion and access for people with disabilities; to students who focused on educating and raising social awareness of individual differences and challenges; and/or to students helping to create a society that reflects greater dignity, belonging, and compassion for all.

Who is eligible: High school seniors who are KS members and plan to attend an institution of higher learning within two years of graduation.

How to apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form (see below), a resume, and a 500-word essay that both describes their efforts to expand inclusion, foster justice, or to create a better society and discusses how these experiences have influenced their plans for college (and beyond).
